You have no excuse to have never heard of D.R.I or their blasphemous drunken grandchildren Municipal Waste unless you are lobotomized from headbanging too much. Even then the last thing that is ringing through your mind eternally is a foreboding D.R.I. riff. So what do you get when D.R.I. meets up with Municipal Waste, you my fellow metal head gets BAT! Formed between Ryan Waste , Felix Griffin, and Nick Poulos, BAT is a speed metal demon!
We have waited for 3 years and now BAT is formally releasing their new debut album Wings of Chains on June 10th. Though the founders come from the most of the most essential of crossover thrash outfits, BAT is the shedding of the punk skin so to say and a balls out speed metal overdose!
Each track on Wings of Chains from “Bloodhounds” to the title track “BAT” kicks out some serious heavy head bang session filled speed metal. There is nothing that is to be disappointed by on Wings of Chains. If you were unaware of who was in this band you would never associate the acts together. BAT is down right dirty, speed.
Wings of Chains is one of those cult albums that is going to be viewed from the future like “Damn I wish I had a copy of that album still, that shit was fucking sweet!”. This is the album you show to your friends who doubt the metal capabilities of punk guys. It is great to see the crossover guys mature to a solid metal offering, not saying they never have shown it before, but they have never shown it this consistently.
