On The Fence: Do You Like Gojira? No ratings yet.

Gojira has been around for some time now. I have never really formed a solid opinion myself, so I am curious. Do you Like Gojira?

For a french band to follow the sounds of groove is quite a unique feature, but does being unique begat something into particularly making it good?

Do You Like Gojira?

SCARS OF THE CRUCIGIF
SCARS OF THE CRUCIGIF

From the last Deicide album to feature the Hoffman brothers, Scars of the Crucifix, is this non-blaspheming Deicide video for the title track. Now, I am having a hard time figuring out if this was supposed to be a serious music video or the pilot episode for the show Sons of Anarchy. You be the judge.

Remember when MTV played good music, remember when MTV played bad music, remember when MTV played music? Carcass, among others, were of the truest metal bands to once upon a time ago to have been played on the now decayed into repeats of Ridiculousness network of MTV. Of all the videos MTV denied they somehow allowed this one for “Incarnated Solvent Abuse” to play in rotation. MTV used to give less of a fuck, I mean shit, they had a video about doing drugs and fucking strippers play, of course I am talking about the notoriously controversial “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy.

We want to put the Metal back into the “Music” of the M of MTV! GIVE US CELEBRITY DEATH MATCH, BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD, HEADBANGER’S BALL AND MUSIC BACK!

Probably will never happen but here is an instant classic from the heydays of MTV, Carcass‘s “Incarnated Solvent Abuse”!

Huff some embalming fluid, headbang and growl at home! here are the lyrics

Intenacious, intersecting
Reaving fats from corporal griskin
Culled…for sodden gelatine brayed
Skeletal groats triturated, desinently
Exsiccated, sere glutenate brewed
For frivolous solvent abuse…

Derogate coarse remains
For glue to dry
Despoiled marrow razed

A truculent shambles so severe

Extravated bone, as adhesive incarnate
A pellucid quietus, nocuosly I create

Corporal glue, breathe in the fumes
Mucilage vapours, toxic fumes to savour

Comminuted remains
As gum to dry
A lissom gel so glazed

A truculent shambolic affair

The exsanguine esprit, shorted as snuff
Rheumic oils forever, Bonded together as gum

Human glue, choke on the fumes
Noxious vapours, slaughterous labour

Hailing from the newly diabolical lands of extreme metal, Bangladesh, is Orobas. Orobas‘s new EP Arise In Impurity is a delightfully evil and destructive  blend of black and death metal. If you are unaware, obviously you never read anything on this site, the extreme metal scene in Bangladesh is practically a fury that is spewing from the mouth of hell.

From the “Ode To Impurity” intro ’till the last reverberating riff of Orobas‘s cover of Venom‘s Black metal, Arise In Impurity will take to you to an ageless time of metal that still holds itself true today.  My favorite track on this monster of an EP is “The Ravana” because it is so damn heavy.

Here is the promotional track from the EP that should inspire you to pick this bad boy up from either Satanath Records or at a later time from Slaughterhouse Records. This here is “BAD BLOOD HUNTER”!!!

Chant along at home!

Bad Blood Hunter

Recalling the confession of angry flames
Combating soul discontent kicking out shames
Standing alone in search of steadfast claims
Bad Blood Hunter rise again against the wall of rotten trails

Don’t listen to the death, there is no liberty

Dying horse race again against serenity
Life conveys nothing for the people of unwise purity
Fuck all confessed and confiscated one way morality

It’s nothing to do with flocks’ stupor fermentation
Torture rise to rise and generate carcass demolition
Canon of eternal hunting devil’s nerve stimulation
Screaming gory animal die for more blood perversion

Don’t listen to the death, there is no liberty

Dying horse race again against serenity
Life conveys nothing for the people of unwise purity
Fuck all confessed and confiscated one way morality

[Lyrics by Rhitil Monisha]

If that strikes your blood lust, as I am sure it does, here is the proper teaser for Arise In Impurity.

Angelcorpse has always had a hold within the metal community. There are many splinters of Angelcorpse that are actively creating new, intense, music for our ears to consume including Perdition Temple, Blasphemic Cruelty, Abhomine, and of course.. KERASPHORUS.

Kerasphorus’s two existing EPs ( Cloven Hoofs at the Holocaust of Dawn and Necronaut) have been compiled into one concise take down. This is something you need to get your grubby hands on. The intensity of Kerasphorus is an unholy combination of occultism and brutality.

In 2008, Pete Helmkamp and Gene Palubicki agreed to pursue their musical endeavors and decided to put Angelcorpse on hiatus. KERASPHORUS was the result for Pete Helmkamp. Concept-wise, KERASPHORUS was composed by P.Helmkamp (bass/vocals) and B.Wolaniuk (guitars) with the intention of creating a sound that allowed all the musical elements to speak with their own voices. KERASPHORUS utilized disharmonies and undertones to further enhance its obscure nature.

In 2009,  three days of rehearsal and recording with J.Read (session drums) were completed, resulting in the Cloven Hooves at the Holocaust Dawn MCD. Two years later, two days of rehearsal and recording resulted in the Necronaut 12”LP. Both releases received acclaim from fans and press alike. But at the time of the recordings, J.Read and B.Wolaniuk rejected the notion of playing live with KERASPHORUS.

In 2016, after much consideration and conversation with Gene Palubicki and Ronnie Parmer, it was decided to make KERASPHORUS a facet of Angelcorpse. Angelcorpse has always been described as a black/death band; KERASPHORUS is the black-cloaked side of Angelcorpse. G. Palubicki and R. Parmer are now permanent members of KERASPHORUS.

HELLS HEADBANGERS and OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS will be re-releasing the two original recordings together on a self-titled CD/LP in September 2016, with new artwork and layout.
